Statement on the passing of
Deputy Police Commissioner Theodore "Ted" Brooks
It is with deep sorrow that I announce the passing of Deputy Police Commissioner Theodore Brooks. Deputy Commissioner Brooks' dedication to law enforcement was only rivaled by his love of our Country and his family. Deputy Commissioner Brooks was appointed in 2008 as an Honorary Deputy Commissioner of the Town of Ulster Police Department. His unwavering support for our Police Department was noted for many years from his famous and perpetual statement that was ever so present at our Town Board Meetings "we need more police". On behalf of the Police Commission, Department, Chief Paul Watzka and a grateful Town I extend our condolences to his family. His loss is truly felt by our staff and our community.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday at 12:00 at the funeral home. Rev. James Alley will officiate. Interment, with military honors by the Joyce - Schirick Post #1386 V.F.W. Color Guard, will be in Montrepose Cemetery. http://www.simpsongaus.com/
